Puzzle Wood

We went to Puzzle Wood near Coleford yesterday. It was a lovely sunny morning and quite warm which was a nice change from the snow we have had earlier in the month. I'd never been to Puzzle Wood before, but reading about it online it is said to have been somewhat of an inspiration to JRR Tolkien for his novel Lord of the Rings.

It's a photographers dream location. It is a labyrinth of ricketty old fences and worn and uneven steps and rocks covered in moss and fungi. A perfect location for engagement shoots and would also be ideal for kids photography too.

It was quite bright when we visited although I am told that it can get quite misty with rays of sunlight coming through the trees at times. It is definitely a place I will return to.

Here is a slide show of some of the photos I took whilst I was there.
